Tips for Effective Query Letters

mlawrence27

A query letter should be a single page cover letter that introduces you (the author) and your book.

Just that. Nothing more, nothing less.

It just sounds more difficult than it is. If you know how you wish to present yourself as an author and about your book, then you have an excellent starting point.

And whatever you do, the query letter is NEVER more than one page.

Keep it simple and try sticking to three or four paragraphs.

Use the following outline to format your letter.

  1. Your hook

  2. Your synopsis

  3. Your Bio

  4. Your closing

If you need detailed help with writing your query letter, remember, the editors and writers at Visual Adjectives will be happy to offer their services.
